Rainer Kelly is a Melbourne-based shooter-producer, director, and cinematographer with over 20 years of experience across broadcast television, film, and commercial production. Specialising in premium factual and documentary content, Rainer served as a Senior Hub Producer, Head Camera, and co-Aerial Cinematographer on the SBS factual series Alone Australia (4 seasons), which won the 2026 AACTA Award for Best Factual Entertainment Program.

He is the Creator, Director, and Cinematographer of the acclaimed SBS documentary series My Restaurant in India, which won two Australian Cinematographers Society Awards across multiple seasons and was broadcast globally in over 120 countries.

Rainer’s extensive credits as a director and shooter-producer span a wide array of documentary productions including Me and My Tourette's, Meet the Neighbours, Big Miracles, The Matchmakers, Airport 24/7, and Dr Ann's Secret Lives. Demonstrating his versatility in shorter cinematic storytelling, he also won Best Short Documentary at the Antenna Documentary Film Festival for The Space Around You.
